Management

 

Vladimir Foygelman      vlad@centermakor.org       President and Executive Director

Vladimir is originally from Kiev, Ukraine. He graduated from Kiev State Arts University. Shortly thereafter, he assembled Jewish Dance Academy for kids which became a huge success in the city.  in 1995 he also put together the first Sunday Jewish school in Kiev. From 1993 to 1996 he worked for local offices of American Jewish Distribution organization "Joint". Once in US, he first got involved with Synagogue Council of Massachusetts where he was a director of programs for Russian-Speaking Jews. In 2005 he created Center Makor where he fulfills the roles of the President and Executive Director.

Gregory Zelfond          greg@centermakor.org          Chairman of the Board

Originally from Moscow, Russia, Gregory Zelfond immigrated to United States in 1993. Almost immediately he became involved with various Jewish Agencies, such as JF&CS in Newton and JCC in Stoughton. In 1998 he started volunteer work for Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston. From 2002 to 2006 he headed Mishpuha Club - a club of over 400 Russian-speaking Young Adults. Since May 2006 - Greg is the chairman of the board at Center Makor, where he brings invaluable experience that spans Russian, Jewish and American cultures.

 

Greg holds B.S. in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA degree in Management from Bentley College. In addition to Makor, Greg is also a chairman of Russian Community Services Committee at Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) as well as a member of American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Starting in 2006, Greg also sits on Board of Directors at Jewish Family Services of MetroWest (JFS) and American Jewish Committee (AJC).
