DESCRIPTION:Death Cafe\nDear Friends\, \nYou are invited to a Death Café experience where strangers gather to demystify the notion of death. \nWe hope to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their lives. The experience will be a group discussion of death with no agenda\, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. Death Cafés help people talk about death and dying in a supportive\, unstructured way. \nThe Death Café approach\, currently used in more than 81 countries worldwide\, allows individuals to discuss difficult topics\, increasing their self-awareness\, potentially reducing death anxiety and augmenting compassionate connections through conversation and personal sharing (Miles and Corr\, 2015; Fong\, 2017; Chang\, 2021). \nDeath Cafes are always: \n\nOpen to\, and respectful of\, people of all communities and belief systems.\nIn an accessible\, respectful and confidential space\nWith no intention of leading people to any conclusion\, product or course of action\n\n***Have cake! \nWe look forward to seeing you! \nPlease RSVP to sari.hirsh@jcam.org no later than Tuesday\, June 24.
