DESCRIPTION:When you approach Newton City Hall\,\nfollow the signs to the Food Pantry.\nShtetl’s Calling\nAn incredible mix of live music and performance – spawned by Klezmer Band “Too Klez for Comfort” and Michael Shyrpal’s band “Ryasno.” They take musical instruments into their hands to create a life-affirming performance about love\, freedom\, and beauty\, which\, at the end of the day – will save the world. \nThe natural venue for this music was the village or shtetl of Eastern Europe. Expect an eclectic atmosphere where the Ukrainian Dorian scale befriends both the Freygish and Misheberak scales that are used in Jewish music.
