Zoom link will be sent to everyone who registered prior to the event. \n\n \nVasyl Popadiuk is a Ukrainian musician\, known as the “Ukrainian Paganini”\, violinist\, pianist\, founder of the band “PapaDuke”\, with whom he travels the world\, playing music in world music styles\, Latino\, gypsy\, and jazz. He knows how to play 15 musical instruments\, and each of the musicians in the band also plays various musical instruments. He is also a composer. He has been an honored artist of Ukraine since 2009. \nVasyl Popadiuk is a classically trained violinist from Ukraine\, now living in Ottawa and performing internationally for enthusiastic and admiring audiences. Popadiuk who is a multi-instrumentalist (he plays 15 instruments)\, has toured with many prestigious troupes\, including Ukraine’s Hopak National Ensemble\, Kyiv’s Gypsy Music Theatre Company\, and the Nazarov Music Theatre Company of Moscow with whom he performed for many international dignitaries including the late King Hussein of Jordan. He was asked to accompany Soviet leader\, Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife as part of the cultural entourage during a state visit to Spain where he performed for Queen Sofia. \nHis many fans include Don Was\, Tom Cochrane\, Ian Gillan (whose solo album Vasyl was asked to play on)\, and Jesse Cook. In the past\, he often appeared as a special guest to Mediterranean guitarist Pavlo in Canada\, the U.S.\, and the UK. С детства загорелся романтикой «спасения жизней» и мечтал стать врачом. Поступил в медицинский институт в г. Калинине (ныне Тверь). \nПосле окончания института работал в Москве акушером-гинекологом и анестезиологом-реаниматологом\, одновременно занимаясь наукой в НИИ микробиологии и эпидемиологии АМН СССР. Разработал новые методы лечения послеродового мастита\, которые потом внедрялись во всех клиниках Москвы и Советского Союза. Одним из первых в СССР начал применять эпидуральную анестезию в родах. \nВ 1982 году был лишен советского гражданства и эмигрировал в США. \nВ течение трех месяцев сдал все экзамены на подтверждение врачебного диплома и получение врачебной лицензии\, за что получил премию ХИАСа «Эмигрант Года». \nПроходил резидентуру по хирургии в Нью Йорке и по акушерству-гинекологии и внутренним болезням в Бостоне. Решил объединить весь предыдущий медицинский опыт и ушел в новую тогда специальность – экстренную медицину. \nС 1991 года по сей день практикует и преподает экстренную медицину в Гарварде. Многие годы руководил клиникой экстренной медицины. Сейчас – директор одной из Гарвардских резидентур. Среди прочих научных исследований\, разработал новый метод обезболивания ран без применения инъекций. \nС юности увлекался альпинизмом\, горными лыжами\, дайвингом\, парусным спортом и т.д. В 1990 году восходил на Эверест. Петь и писать стихи начал в детстве. В 14 лет сам научил себя играть на гитаре. \nПосчастливилось быть знакомым с Галичем\, Высоцким\, Кукиным\, Клячкиным\, Дольским\, Окуджавой и другими бардами. Аккомпанировал Высоцкому в домашних записях. В 90е годы вышли две пластинки с этими записями. \nИнтервью со Славой по поводу его записей с Высоцким \nПишет песни в основном на свои стихи\, русские и английские\, но иногда на стихи разных поэтов: Гумилева\, Бродского\, Йейтса\, Фроста\, Пастернака\, Магида\, Габриэля\, Кураса и других. \nВыступает обычно в сольных концертах. В концертах как правило исполняет в основном свои песни\, за исключением вечеров памяти отдельных бардов (так\, например\, Слава регулярно проводит вечера памяти А.А.Галича). \nВ 2016\, 2017\, 2018 и 2019 году по приглашению Фонда Булата Окуджавы выступал с сольными концертами в Доме Булата на Арбате в Москве. В сентябре 2017 выступал в Доме Журналиста в Москве. В декабре 2019 года выступал в Московском Доме Кино со своими песнями и воспоминаниями о замечательном писателе Фазиле Искандере. В том же декабре в Москве провёл вечер памяти ближайшего друга\, актера Московского Театра на Таганке Димы Межевича. \nВ октябре 2019 выступил с сольным концертом в главном концертном зале Берлина Konzerthaus Berlin по приглашению организаторов фестиваля в честь великого скрипача Гидона Кремера. \nИнтервью на Радио “Русский Берлин” \nВсе концерты Славы благотворительные. Играя на фортепиано с четырёх лет\, он развил интерес к импровизации и звуковым экспериментам\, что конфликтовало со строгими правилами советской музыкальной школы\, и своей профессией Лео выбрал театр. Тем не менее\, обучаясь режиссуре и актёрскому мастерству в Петербурге у Г. Товстоногова (ЛГИТМиК 1982-85) и в Москве у А. Эфроса и А.Васильева (ГИТИС 1985-87) играл на джазовых концертах и рок-фестивалях\, писал музыку к кино\, эстрадно-цирковым и театральным постановкам\, в том числе и собственным. Плодотворное сочетание музыки и театра Лео разнообразно воплотил в качествах исполнителя\, режиссёра\, композитора и преподавателя актёрского мастерства в Академии Музыкального Театра Росетты ЛеНуар (AMAS) и на фестивале Новая Музыка по всей Америке\, в Нью-Йоркской Актёрской Студии и Бруклинской Академии Музыки\, на Международном Радио США (PRI) и с российскими Лицедеями\, на Нью-Йорк ТВ (NYTV) и в Колледже Клоунов при Цирке Братьев Ринглинг-Барнум и Бэйли\, в университетах Juilliard и Columbia с семинарами по “Системе Станиславского”\, сочинил и поставил в Бостоне (Центр Макор) мюзикл “Король Матиуш Первый” по Янушу Корчаку (соавтор пьесы Мария Дейкуте)\, организовал и возглавлял театр с участием индейцев Навахо El Morro Performing Group в Нью-Мексико (2015-18)\, а сейчас работает над созданием студенческого театра в Университете Назарбаева (Астана. В 2022 Лео и Эланой в Астане (Казахстан) открыта Арт Студия РеКа (ReKa Art Studio). \n  \nЮЛИАН МИЛКИС\nЮлиан Милкис – всемирно известный классический и джазовый кларнетист\, единственный ученик Бенни Гудмена. Выступал на главных мировых сценах Европы и Америки. Милкис тесно сотрудничал с Оливье Мессианом и Гией Канчели. Концерты для него написали такие композиторы\, как О. Моравец\, О. Петрова\, Б. Тищенко\, М. Вайнберг\, А. Юсфин\, Д. Хайман. \nМилкис родился в Одессе (Украина) в семье музыкантов. В 1974 году эмигрировал из Советского Союза в Канаду. Judah recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University’s Historical Performance program. There\, his dissertation\, focused on the viola da gamba accompaniments of seventeenth-century English song\, received the Adel Heinrich Award for Excellence in Musicological Research.\n\n\nJacob Jahiel is a writer\, editor\, and violist da gamba currently living in Baltimore\, MD. He holds an M.A. in Musicology with an outside field in Historical Performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music\, also receiving a B.A. from IU’s Individualized Major Program\, where he designed an undergraduate degree in music history. Jahiel studied modern violin with Jorja Fleezanis\, baroque violin with Stanley Ritchie\, and viola da gamba with Joanna Blendulf. He additionally held graduate assistantships in the Borns Jewish Studies Program and was an Undergraduate Research Fellow with the IU Platform in Global Popular Music. Currently\, Jahiel works in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Marketing and Communications Department\, performs\, and writes on a freelance basis. He has written program notes for the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra\, Boston Artists Ensemble\, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra\, additionally contributing album reviews and features to Early Music America’s EMag. When not scraping away at various historical bow instruments\, he can be found hiking\, fly-fishing\, and skiing near his childhood home in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming\, where cows outnumber people 3:1.

The musician Lukash\, to save his sick uncle Lev\, goes to the mysterious and forbidden forest to find the tree of life at the suggestion of the cruel Kylina. In fact\, Kylyna wants to use the tree’s nourishing power to obtain eternal youth. Mavka admires Lukash’s musical talent and feelings arise between them. \nThe cartoon does not include some characters from Lesya Ukrainka’s original work\, such as Lukash’s mother\, Perelesnyk\, and Poterchat. She also got her degree from Rubin Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem\, Israel. She is a busy freelance violinist in the Greater Boston area. Irina performed with Broadway on Tour’s The Phantom of the Opera\, and Hello Dolly at Boston Opera House\, An American in Paris at Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. She performed many shows with an amazing legends such as Marni Nixon\, Sarah Brightman\, Johnny Mathis and The Who. Irina is a former longstanding member of Cape Symphony and has an extensive experience playing with many symphony orchestras including New Hampshire\, Plymouth\, Lexington Symphonies and also Pro-Arte Chamber Orchestra. Irina has been on FSPA Music Faculty since 2009 and has played in the orchestra of many Franklin Performing Arts Company productions including Annie\, Sound of Music\, Charlie Brown\, Peter Pan\, The Music Man\, Spamalot\, Fiddler on the Roof\, Cabaret\, and most recently Legally Blonde\, Humbug!\, Sweeney Todd\, and The Sound of Music. Irina is a concertmaster for the annual FPAC Holiday Production of The Nutcracker and a coordinator of THE BLACK BOX Classical Series. \nIrina Kotlyar\nBorn in Kharkov\, Ukraine\, Irina Kotlyar earned her master’s degree and artistic diploma from the Jerusalem Rubin Music Academy. With Gregory Shifrin\, the Kotlyar-Shifrin Piano Duo has won several international prizes and awards\, including the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition (1999) in Miami and the First International Duo Piano Competition in Byalistok\, Poland (1999). The Duo has performed throughout Israel\, Europe\, and America\, including concerts with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra\, New World Orchestra of Miami\, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra\, and Israeli Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Shapiro was born in Russia and has been living and working in Israel for the last 30 years of his life. Jerusalem in black & white – $300 \n\nThe artists joking together with you\nZachar Shapiro (1946-2018) was born and educated in Moscow\, Russia\, where he worked primarily in decorative art creating tapestries\, stained glass and metal reliefs. His career came to a screeching halt when he suffered a severe stroke at the age of 42. Originally left-handed\, he could not use his dominant hand any longer.\nShortly after\, in 1990\, he immigrated to Israel with his family. The warm climate and proper medical care not only helped his physical recovery\, but also revived him as an artist. Zachar trained himself to paint with his right hand and became ever more productive.\nZachar’s paintings are influenced by the 20th century European masters and Russian Avant-Garde. They are done in so many styles that they might have been created by several different artists. Чувствуешь себя безликой частичкой\, неотличимой от тысяч других. А наш Маалот – он для каждого. Он на тебя одет\, как пальто твоего размера\, и тебе в нём комфорно. \nУвлечение в молодости живописью великих мастеров русского авангарда – Кандинского\, Лентулова\, Филонова – не могло не повлиять на формирование его творческого почерка и стиля. \nХудожник писал натюрморты\, фантасмагории и жанровые сценки\, он одинаково уверенно владел акварелью и маслом. В 1993–97 годах в Бостоне прошли первые выставки его работ\, сразу же привлёкших внимание. Излюбленная тематика Захара – осенние мотивы: одиночество человека в природе и в городской суете\, тонкие пейзажи и мрачноватые ландшафты Галилеи\, переплетённые фантазии снов и музыки. Значительное место в этот период занимали также сценки из еврейской жизни в старых российских местечках и маленьких израильских городах. \nОдним из главных элементов картин является свет\,волшебство воздушных красок\,передающих тонкие эмоции отражения\,погружения и духовности.
