Гениальность актера Лисичкина поставлена под вопрос: его увольняют из театра. Обида выливается на родную дочь, Верочку, которую он хочет выдать замуж за отставного прапорщика, дважды вдовца – Акакия Назарыча Ушицу. Верочку не вдохновляет роль деревенской отставной прапорщицы. Взяв в пособницы свою горничную, Катерину, талантливая девушка дурачит жениха и отца и находит выход из положения. Красочный водевиль с песнями, танцами и переодеваниями будет интересен и взрослым, и детям! В спектакле звучит живая музыка в исполнении Александра Прохорова-Толстого.

ОПИСАНИЕ ЛЕКЦИИ
Массовая репатриация из СССР и постсоветских стран, начавшаяся осенью 1989 года, привела к настоящему времени в Израиль порядка 1,3 млн бывших советских евреев и членов их семей. Появление в стране этой крупнейшей после коренных израильтян субэтнической группы, обладающей своим культурно-ментальным багажом, системой социальных и экономических ценностей, а также идеологических представлений, оказалось непростым вызовом израильскому обществу, но одновременно оказало колоссальное влияние на различные аспекты социально-политической, культурной и экономической жизни Израиля. Выдвижение русскоязычным израильским сообществом собственной общественной повестки дня, своих элит и политических институтов серьезно повлияло на электоральный расклад в Израиле.
В лекции речь пойдет о структуре, идентичности, интеграции в израильское общество и взаимоотношениях четырех волн «русскоязычной» алии, прибывших в еврейское государство на протяжении последних
десятилетий: «Большой алии» 1989-2000 гг.; алии начала XXI века; «Крымской алии» 2014-2021 гг.; нынешней, начавшейся в 2022 году «Военной», или «тыквенной», алии. Особое внимание будет уделено отношению репатриантов разных лет к войне в Украине и большой ближневосточной войне, начавшейся 7 октября 2023 года, а также возможному влиянию «русскоязычного Израиля» на итоги выборов в Кнессет 27 октября этого года.

О ДОКЛАДЧИКЕ
Проф. Зеэв (Владимир) Ханин преподает политические науки и возглавляет программу изучения постсоветских конфликтов в Центре стратегических исследований Бегина-Садата в Университете Бар-Илан. В 2009-2022 гг. занимал пост главного ученого (руководителя ведомственной науки) Министерства алии и интеграции Израиля. Регулярно выступает на 9-м канале израильского телевидения в качестве ведущего политического эксперта.

Russian-Speaking Aliya in Israel: Identity, Culture, and Politics

ABOUT THE LECTURE:
Israel is the largest demographic, cultural, and political center of Russian-speaking Jewry (RSJ). Its community of more than one million Russian-speaking Israelis – most of whom arrived from the former USSR during the Great Aliya of the 1990s – has had a profound impact on Israeli socio-political, cultural, and economic life.

THE LECTURE WILL FOCUS ON:
Formation and structure of the RSJ community in Israel
Russian Aliya against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine
Ethnic, civic, and cultural identities of different waves of (post-)Soviet Aliya
The cultural impact of Russian Aliya on Israeli society
The ideological and political map of Russian Israel

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Ze’ev (Vladimir) Khanin is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Studies and Head of the Post-Soviet Conflict Research Program at the BESA Center for Strategic Studies, Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He previously served as Chief Scientist (Deputy Director General for Research) at the Israeli Ministry of Aliya and Integration. He is chief co-editor of the academic series Post-Soviet Jewry in Transition at De Gruyter-Brill. He is a frequent speaker on Israeli 9th Russian-Language TV channel (девятый канал/девятка).

Hiding in Plain Sight: Finding Wisdom in Unexpected Places

The most unlikely people can be our teachers and guides. Certain individuals who are only mentioned briefly in Torah have a great deal to teach. They remind us to pay attention to the wisdom that can be found among people we might otherwise dismiss. We will begin with the story of Serach, the daughter of Asher, who is mentioned twice in Torah, but has a richly developed folk tradition in midrash and other Jewish lore.

Biography:

Rabbi Barbara Penzner served Temple Hillel B’nai Torah from 1995 until 2023, when she became Rabbi Emerita. She is currently the Interim Executive Director of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA).

After graduation from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 1987, Rabbi Barbara and her husband Brian Rosman made their home in Newton and Boston. She is among the founders of Mayyim Hayyim, co-chaired the New England Jewish Labor Committee, and served as president of the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis and President of the RRA.

What’s Kabbalah?

What are the myths and truths about Kabbalah? I’ll present a short history of Kabbalah and its impact on Jewish life.

We’ll be introduced to the “Tree of Life”; to the Kabbalistic “Big Bang Theory; to the major Kabbalistic teachers and their descendants, and more. There will be time for questions and comments.

Biography:

Reb Moshe is the Rabbi emeritus of TBZ, Temple Beth Zion, an independent congregation in Brookline, MA. He earned his doctorate in Jewish intellectual history at Brandeis University,

He was ordained as a non-denominational rabbi by Rabbis Zalman Schachter and Everett Gendler, of blessed memory. and Rabbi Arthur Green, may he be enriched for a long life.

Reb Moshe was one of founders of the Tibetan-Jewish dialogue., The Jew in the Lotus describes our meeting with the Dalai Lama. He is also the co-editor of THE BIG BOOK OF JEWISH HUMOR.
