I chose infrared not for effect\, but because it reveals what ordinary sight cannot: the quiet trace of time\, the way memory lingers in light long after people have disappeared. For me\, this photograph is not a document of a place\, but an encounter with history — a way of seeing underlying presence and absence at the same moment.\nPhotography\, like psychiatry\, is an act of attention. It asks you to stay\, to witness\, and to hold what is often difficult to hold. With subzero temperatures and widespread power outages\, many families in Kyiv are left without heat or electricity. \nThe evening features Vadim Neselovskyi\, the internationally acclaimed Ukrainian pianist and composer\, who is donating his performance while traveling between concerts in Vienna and New York\, where he will present his new album PERSEVERANTIA. His work has been recognized by NPR\, PBS NewsHour\, The Boston Globe\, and The New York Times. \nDr. Ron Hirshberg (Home Base / Mass General Brigham)\, a participant in the “Invisible Wounds of Ukraine” initiative and the producer of the documentary Standing Up Against the Sky\, will present his film about a ballet dancer who went to the front in the first days of the large-scale aggression against Ukraine. She served as a Mental Health Officer in the Israel Defense Forces (Air Force\, Intelligence Corps\, and the Combat Reaction Unit). Since October 7th\, she has been dedicated to volunteering with combat veterans and civilians coping with PTSD and acute trauma. \nThe event is free\, but we’re asking you to register in advance. \nREGISTER \n\nThis event takes place at our Community Hub located at 1320 Centre St.\, Newton\, 02459. \nParking is available between the buildings or on the ramp behind the open bar gate.
