SUMMARY:A Conversation & Fundraiser with Congressman Eugene Vindman (VA-07)
DESCRIPTION:A Conversation & Fundraiser with Congressman Eugene Vindman (VA-07) \nModerated by Harvard Professor Danielle Allen \nFriday\, October 3\, 2025 | 6:00 to 7:30 PM ET \nAddress provided upon RSVP | Concord\, MA \n*Please click HERE to RSVP and donate* \nLike many Americans\, I have been looking for ways to stand up to the chaos\, extremism\, and attacks on democracy and national security we are now witnessing. One answer: support leaders with courage and integrity who are willing to fight back. That is why I am co-hosting a conversation and fundraiser with Congressman Eugene Vindman in Concord on Friday\, October 3. Please find attached an invitation with additional information. I hope you will join us. \nYou may remember Eugene as the Army colonel who helped expose Trump’s abuse of power during the infamous Ukraine call that led to Trump’s first impeachment. That moment made the Vindman name synonymous with patriotism\, honor\, and service. But standing up for democracy cost Eugene his military career. \nRather than walk away\, Eugene ran for and won Virginia’s 7th district – one the most competitive in the country. In just six months\, he has become a national leader on national security\, veteran’s issues\, and protecting working families and civil servants. Now\, MAGA Republicans\, far-right billionaires like Elon Musk\, and even Trump’s U.S. Attorney are targeting him. But Eugene is not backing down. \nPlease join me and my fellow hosts on October 3 for an evening with Eugene Vindman\, moderated by Harvard professor and democracy expert Danielle Allen. This will be an intimate gathering focused on what is at stake and how we can help Eugene continue fighting for our freedom and values. \nAll levels of support are most appreciated and outlined through the RSVP link below. \nRSVP

SUMMARY:Newton Neighbor in Need of Support
DESCRIPTION:Dear Neighbors: \nWhile I look forward to teaching\, writing\, editing\, or otherwise collaborating with and supporting you\, I wanted to ask you to do what you can to help a neighbor in need. \nJeanie Gruber is a therapist-turned-caterer who splits her time between New Orleans and Newton. As the founder of WISHDISH\, she visits homeless shelters (including Common Cathedral in Boston)\, where she asks the guests about the dishes they wish they could enjoy again and then cooks them for the entire community! \nFor years\, Jeanie has been funding and cooking for the organization on her own. To grow WISHDISH\, she has released a cookbook featuring recipes and stories from the Common Cathedral community\, with proceeds supporting the program. \nOn October 23 at 6 PM\, I will be interviewing Jeanie at Boston Public Market as part of my new food-related author talk series. I hope that you can join us and that you will consider coming by\, buying the book\, and sharing the news with other neighbors so Jeanie can grow the organization and help more people. \nAlso\, if you can think of other places to host events that feature either Jeanie or any of the other authors who have appeared on my nationally syndicated author talk show and international podcast\, please let me know. \nThank you! \nLiterally\,\nMatt \nMatt Robinson EdM\, MAT\n61 Moraine Street\, Unit 12\nBelmont\, MA 02478 \nAuthor of Lions\, Tigers\, and…Bulldogs? SUMMARY:Israel Symphony Orchestra Trio
DESCRIPTION:ISO String Trio\, Concert & Fundraiser\nSunday\, October 26\, 7:30 PM (doors @ 7)\nTickets start at $36  \nCome to KI to hear a trio from the Israel Symphony Orchestra on their first US tour! The ISO is a cultural cornerstone in Rishon LeZion\, Tel Aviv and beyond\, bringing music and joy to communities throughout Israel while providing vital opportunities for young Israeli and immigrant musicians and enriching the nation’s cultural future. \nViolinist Yana Mering\, violist Doron Alperin and cellist Eyal Heiman will cover two centuries of music from Western and Eastern European composers\, including a piece written at Terezin in 1944 by the talented Jewish-Czech composer Gideon Klein. They will conclude with a selection of contemporary Israeli songs arranged for string trio. Guests are encouraged to stay after the concert to meet the musicians and hear their stories! \nTICKETS \nThe Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion (ISO) was founded in 1988 by the municipality of Rishon LeZion and a year later it became the resident orchestra of The Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv\, the premier opera company in Israel. Very quickly the ISO was recognized as one of the leading and most innovative musical organizations in Israel. Led by musical director Dan Ettinger\, the ISO currently employs 76 musicians and support staff from Israel\, Russia\, Spain\, United States\, Germany\, Australia\, Romania\, and China. During the war\, members of the ISO played over 200 concerts for communities affected by the atrocities and for refugees all over Israel. Today\, the ensemble needs your help as recent funding cuts are affecting staff salaries and operations. \nProceeds from this concert will be sent by KI to the ISO to support their talented musicians. In addition to your ticket purchase (or if you are unable to attend)\, please consider supporting the ensemble philanthropically directly through their US Causematch page. \nRead the full bios of the musicians on the Eventbrite ticket page: ISOtrio.eventbrite.com
