This hamsa pendant is made by clay artist Yuliya Shulman.
It is hand-crafted from black, pink, magenta, green, and white polymer clay folded to form an intricate checkered pattern.
The pendant is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa, in Judaism and Islam, and commonly used in jewelry and wall hangings. Depicting the open right hand, the image is used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa is believed to provide defense against the evil eye. The eye, often placed inside the palm, is supposed to increase the effect.
Original design and bold color scheme of this hamsa pendant make it a very elegant piece. It will pair beautifully with a casual outfit. This hamsa pendant is perfect to wear or give as a gift.
The pendant is around 2.5″ tall. The imitation suede cord measures approximately 18″ and has a lobster clasp and 2″ extension chain. On the reverse side the clay is stamped with the artist’s initial – letter “Y”.
