This hamsa pendant is made by clay artist Yuliya Shulman.
This hamsa pendant is hand-crafted from pink, purple, and teal polymer clay folded to form a lizard tail pattern.
The pendant is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa, in Judaism and Islam, and commonly used in jewelry and wall hangings. Depicting the open right hand, the image is used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa is believed to provide defense against the evil eye. The eye, often placed inside the palm, is supposed to increase the effect.
Modern, sleek shape and bold colors create a focal piece and will pair beautifully with a casual outfit. This unusual hamsa pendant is perfect to wear or give as a gift.
The pendant is around 2.5″ tall. The leather cord measures approximately 18″ and has a lobster clasp and 2″ extension chain. On the reverse side the clay is stamped with the artist’s initial – letter “Y”.
