This hamsa pendant is made by clay artist Yuliya Shulman.
Earthy brown hamsa pendant is hand-crafted out of polymer clay. Brown clay is decorated with white and purple color inlays with matching beads on the cord. A bronze-colored metal stud gives it a cheerful focal point.
The pendant is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa, in Judaism and Islam, and commonly used in jewelry and wall hangings. Depicting the open right hand, the image is used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa is believed to provide defense against the evil eye. The eye, often placed inside the palm, is supposed to increase the effect.
This fun, unusual hamsa pendant will pair nicely with a casual outfit. This cheerful pendant is perfect to wear or give as a gift.
The pendant is 2.5″ long. The cord measures approximately 21″ and has a lobster clasp and a 2″ extension chain. On the reverse side the clay is stamped with the artist’s initial – letter “Y”.
