A Jazz Benefit for the People of Ukraine
featuring Maxim Lubarsky & special guests
On Friday, May 13, 2022, at 7:30 pm,
the Boston jazz community will unite to support Ukrainian relief efforts with a hybrid in-person/streaming evening of amazing & inspiring jazz and poetry.
Ukrainian-born pianist & musical director Maxim Lubardky has assembled an all-star collection of musicians, including:
Fernando Huergo/bass, Mark Walker/drums, Tucker Antell/sax, Yulia Musayelyan/flute, Annette Philip/voice, the Noah Preminger Group, and the Nando Mihelin/Ebinho Cardoso Group. In addition, poet & translator Dzvinia Orlowsky will read poems by Ukrainian writers Natalka Bilotserkivets & Halyna Kruk in Ukrainian and in English translations by Orlowsky and Ali Kinsella.
Conceived by Jay Hoffman & Cj Kelley, this event is presented by JazzBoston, the Multicultural Arts Center, and the Cambridge Community Center for the Arts, with partial funding provided by Kjell Christiansen and Stephen Adams
The event will be hybrid, with in-person & streaming access, and will take place
online via Zoom and at the Multicultural Arts Center,
(41 Second Street, Cambridge, MA 02141).
Theatre Doors at 7 pm. Zoom doors open at 7:20 pm.
